The main dome ceiling, further domes, the lobby and a staircase dome, all cast in GRG with the lighting built in.

The brief

Design, supply and install a glass reinforced gypsum internal dome ceiling for the Chief Minister’s Office, as specialist subcontractor to the main contractor, with M. Kiandee Architect as architect.

What we delivered

GRG and FGRG: pattern and mould making, casting of the radial ribs, lattice panels and relief, installation and finishing, with the lighting integrated into the ceiling.

Our package: the GRG ceilings, from design to installation.

Delivery

  1. Aug 2015Work begins
  2. Apr 2016Installation under way on site
  3. Feb 2017Handed over, 10 February

How the package grew

The work began with the main dome ceiling and grew by variation as it went up: further dome ceilings, the main lobby and the dome over the spiral staircase, all in cast GRG.

The light

The main dome, in every light.

The ceiling’s lighting moves through a cycle of colours, and the cast relief reads cleanly in every one of them.
